The design brief. A legal practice site covering bankruptcy, car accidents, capital markets, family law, child welfare, copyright, immigration, criminal code, public health and business contracts. Ten practice areas is the central design problem: a visitor arriving with one specific legal worry has to find their area instantly, and a firm that lists everything can easily look like it specialises in nothing.
The practice area grid. We laid the ten areas out as a nine-cell grid with a dark statement panel occupying the centre position. Each cell carries a line icon, the practice name and a case count. Putting the positioning statement inside the grid rather than above it means the visitor absorbs the firm's philosophy while scanning for their own situation, instead of having to read a paragraph before reaching anything useful.
Case counts as proof. Every practice area shows the number of cases handled. This is the most persuasive detail on the page and it costs nothing to display. A prospective client choosing a solicitor is trying to judge experience, and a specific figure beside their exact issue answers that far better than a general claim about years in practice.
Palette and photography. Deep navy throughout with muted gold accents, and a single photograph of a solicitor against that navy. Legal design conventionally reaches for either heavy mahogany traditionalism or stark corporate white; navy with gold sits between them — serious and established without feeling stuffy or cold.
Practical detail in the header. Opening hours, a direct line for consultations and an email address sit at the top right, permanently visible. Legal enquiries are often urgent and frequently made by phone, and burying contact details behind a menu costs real work.
The consultation call to action. One button, offering a free consultation, placed directly under the opening statement. Free removes the barrier for someone who does not know whether they even have a case, which is the position most visitors to a law firm site are actually in.
