Financial advisory website design

The design brief. A financial services firm advising small businesses and individuals across corporate finance, personal finance and investment management. Financial advice is bought almost entirely on trust, and the design has to establish a person worth listening to before it explains a single service.

Leading with a face. The hero is a portrait of an adviser, mid-laugh, adjusting his glasses, against a muted green background. Not a boardroom, not a chart, not a skyline. Financial services default to abstract imagery of markets, which communicates nothing and reassures nobody. A specific, approachable person answers the question a nervous visitor is actually asking, which is whether they will be talked down to.

The testimonial strip. Directly beneath the hero, four short client quotes run in a horizontal band with names attached. Placing social proof immediately after the first impression — before services, before the about section — is deliberate. In an advice business the second question after who are you is who else trusted you, and answering it in the first screen removes the biggest objection early.

Service cards with photography. Small business, corporate finance and personal finance are presented as cards, each with its own photograph of real people and a short list of what sits inside. Distinguishing the three audiences visually matters here: a sole trader and a finance director need different reassurance, and a single blended services list would make each feel it was written for someone else.

Palette and typography. Muted forest green with white and dark grey, and a clean sans throughout. Green rather than the corporate navy every competitor uses — it reads as growth and stability without the coldness, and it makes the firm recognisable in a category where most sites are visually interchangeable.

Case studies over claims. A dedicated section presents client work rather than adjectives. In financial advice, a described outcome is worth more than any list of qualifications, because it lets a prospective client recognise their own situation in someone else's.
