The design brief. A mountain resort site offering cabin accommodation and packages, with direct booking as the commercial goal. Independent properties compete against booking aggregators with vastly larger budgets, and the only advantage they hold is atmosphere — so the design has to sell a feeling the aggregators cannot reproduce.
The dark botanical hero. Deep forest greens, almost black at the edges, with the property name in a wide-tracked serif centred across the top. Three photographs of cabins in woodland sit beneath it at staggered heights, the centre one lifted and rounded. Aggregator listings are bright, white and dense with information; going dark and quiet immediately signals somewhere different, and the letter-spaced serif does the rest of the work of positioning without a single adjective.
Three images, not one. Rather than a single hero photograph, three views are shown together — an aerial, an exterior, a fire pit at dusk. Accommodation is chosen on the sense of a whole place rather than one room, and three complementary angles give a fuller impression in the same space. The staggered heights keep the group from reading as a rigid gallery.
The booking panel. A dark green form sits directly below the images carrying check-in, check-out, room and occupancy fields with a bright lime search button. Placing it in the first screen is the central conversion decision: the whole purpose of an independent property site is to capture the direct booking rather than losing the guest back to a commission-charging platform, and every scroll before the search box is an opportunity to lose them.
The lime accent. One high-visibility colour, used on the search button and the book-your-stay control in the header, and nowhere else. Against a palette of deep greens and near-blacks it is unmissable. The two most valuable actions on the site are the only two elements wearing it.
The location map. A hand-drawn style outline map with a single marked point sits beside the welcome copy. For a remote property, location is both the attraction and the practical question, and an illustrated map answers it in a way that suits the brand where an embedded interactive map would have looked utilitarian and broken the mood.
Pacing. Generous white space between sections, short paragraphs, unhurried scrolling. A resort is selling escape and calm, and a page that feels crowded or urgent contradicts the product no matter how good the photography is.
