Advertising agency website design

The design brief. A site for a digital agency offering advertising, publicity and direct mail alongside web and mobile work. The visitor is usually a marketing manager comparing several agencies, and the site has to establish creative capability within the first screen.

The low-poly gradient hero. A faceted geometric background running from violet through magenta, with a paint-splashed coffee cup composited at the centre and the agency name beside it. Digitally-generated geometry rather than photography is a deliberate signal — it says the agency produces its own visual assets instead of licensing them, which is precisely the capability a prospective client is buying.

The paint splash. Bright multicoloured splatter bursts from the cup across the gradient. It is chaotic against an otherwise ordered geometric field, and that contrast is the point: creativity presented as controlled disruption. A cup on its own would have been a stock image; a cup mid-explosion is a made thing.

Three-column service cards. Beneath the hero, three services in equal cards with photographs, headings and short copy. After a loud opening, this section is deliberately plain. The hero establishes that the agency can make things; the cards establish what it sells. Sustaining the hero's intensity down the whole page would have exhausted the reader and buried the commercial information.

The oversized watermark text. Very large pale grey words sit behind the content as a background layer — a section label rendered at enormous size in near-invisible tone. It adds depth and editorial structure without introducing another element competing for attention, and it gives long scrolling sections a sense of chaptering.

The framed image treatment. A photograph is offset inside a violet outlined rectangle so the frame and the image sit slightly apart rather than aligned. That small deliberate misalignment is a designer's signature: it reads as intentional composition rather than a default placement, and on an agency site those details are read as evidence of craft.

Typography and hierarchy. A clean geometric sans throughout, with headings set large and confident and body copy small and light. The restraint in the typeface is what allows the imagery and colour to be as loud as they are — a decorative display face on top of this palette would have tipped the whole page from energetic into noisy.
