Fran & Co Salon + Spa is a Toronto salon offering hair, spa, laser and registered massage therapy, built around low-impact products that are healthier for guests and for the stylists working with them all day.
The design problem. Most salon website design leans on stock photography of anonymous models and copy about pampering, which describes every salon in the city and therefore distinguishes none of them. A salon is chosen on style, and style has to be shown.
How we designed it. The layout borrows from fashion editorial rather than from small-business templates: an asymmetric photo grid of actual finished work, generous white space, and a restrained serif wordmark. The salon's own line — "Chin up Princess, or the crown slips" — is set over the imagery instead of being replaced with marketing copy, because that voice is the brand.
Keeping it current. An Instagram feed is embedded directly into the page, so fresh work appears without anyone touching the website. For a salon posting daily, that turns social media into site content automatically. Hair, spa, laser and massage each get their own navigation route, since these are different bookings with different intent.
