Creative Talent Management is a New York talent and modelling agency representing men and women, and scouting continuously for new faces.
The design problem. Agency website design has to satisfy two audiences with opposite needs. Casting directors and brands want to browse the roster fast and see the calibre of campaign work. Aspiring models want to know how to be seen. Serve them with one generic page and neither is satisfied.
How we designed it. The navigation splits by exactly that division — Women, Men and Talent for the industry, Get Scouted for applicants — so each visitor is one click from what they came for.
Getting out of the way. Fashion is judged on imagery, and any design flourish competes with the photographs. So the interface is stripped almost to nothing: a centred serif wordmark, plain text navigation, white space, and campaign photography running edge to edge at full width. No shadows, no gradients, no decorative framing.
That restraint is the design decision. In fashion, a site that looks designed makes the work look smaller; a site that disappears makes the work look larger.
