The design brief. A game launch site built to drive pre-orders, for an audience with the sharpest eye for design authenticity of any consumer market.
Breaking the grid on purpose. Every panel is cut with angular clipped corners rather than rectangles or rounded cards. Gaming interfaces have their own visual grammar — HUD overlays, hard diagonals, aggressive geometry — and a site built on soft rounded boxes signals immediately that whoever made it does not play games. The angles are the credibility.
Colour and contrast. High-saturation yellow against near-black, with diagonal hazard hatching in the margins. It is loud by design; restraint would read as a corporate site wearing a costume.
Conversion path. The pre-order button sits directly beneath the key art with platform icons ranged alongside it, so a visitor confirms their console is supported and commits in the same glance. Review scores follow as a row of large numerals from named outlets, then a wall of pull-quotes over gameplay art. In games, aggregate scores are the deciding factor, so they get the position and size that decision deserves.
