The design brief. A recipe and food blog built around a named author, where the design has to serve high-frequency publishing without every post looking identical.
Numbering the archive. The post list is set in two columns with each entry numbered, a thumbnail, a category label and the title. The numbering is the detail that matters: it turns a list into a collection, implies an editorial run rather than a feed, and gives the eye an anchor when scanning quickly. Food blogs usually stack full-width cards, which look generous and scan slowly.
Restraint around the photography. A white background, thin rules, and a single green accent. Food photography is intensely coloured, and any interface competing with it makes the food look worse. Everything structural here is deliberately quiet.
The author section. Set on a soft tinted panel with a cut-out portrait breaking the edge and a play button over it. Recipe sites live on personality — readers return for a person, not a database — so the introduction is given real space rather than being pushed into a sidebar.
